By downloading or using LUCID you agree to these terms. The short version: LUCID is a self-guided support tool, not a medical service; your membership is billed and managed through your app store; and we've tried to write the fine print like human beings.
1. Who we are, and the license you get
LUCID is operated by Serendipity Day Inc. (“LUCID,” “we,” “us”). We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the LUCID app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.
On Apple devices, these terms supplement Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies to your use of the app. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or its content.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the app;
- reverse-engineer or attempt to extract its source code, except where the law permits it despite this term;
- use the app in any unlawful way, or in any way that could harm others or interfere with the app's operation.
The numbers LUCID shows you — money saved, hours reclaimed, recovery percentages, the dependence score — are motivational approximations built from your own answers. They are not measurements and not clinical assessments.
3. Membership & billing
LUCID offers two ways in. Stated plainly:
- Lucid Annual — an auto-renewing subscription at US $39.99 per year. New members start with one of two introductory offers, chosen on the paywall: a 7-day free trial, or a 30-day introductory period for a one-time US $4.99. When the introductory period ends, the annual plan begins automatically and US $39.99 is charged, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Lucid Lifetime — a one-time purchase of US $99.99. One payment. It never renews, and nothing further is ever charged.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID (or Google Play) account at confirmation of purchase — or, for a free trial, when the trial ends. The subscription renews automatically each year unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; the renewal charge is applied within 24 hours before the current period ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase Lucid Lifetime.
To cancel: open your device Settings → your name → Subscriptions (or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions; on Android, Google Play subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Prices above are in US dollars; the exact price in your region and currency is always shown in the App Store at the moment of purchase.
4. Refunds
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are handled by them under their policies. For Apple purchases, you can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
5. Not medical advice
LUCID provides educational content and self-tracking tools to support reducing or stopping cannabis use. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you are struggling, talk to a doctor — and if you are in crisis, contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) or the SAMHSA National Helpline (1‑800‑662‑4357).
6. Ownership
The app, its design, illustrations, and content belong to Serendipity Day Inc. Everything you enter into the app belongs to you — and stays on your device, as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. No warranty
LUCID is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We work hard to make it reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation or any particular outcome.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for decisions you make based on the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose (or US $50 if you paid nothing). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the courts located there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to something else.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. If a change is material, we will reflect it in the app and update the “Last updated” date above before it takes effect. Continuing to use LUCID after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Contact
Questions about these terms: hello@serendipity.day, or use “Contact support” in the app's Settings.
