LUCID is built so that we know as little about you as possible. What you are working through is yours. This policy describes what the app stores, what it does not, and the few places where a third party is involved.
Who we are
LUCID is operated by Serendipity Day Inc. (“LUCID,” “we,” “us”). For anything in this policy, write to hello@serendipity.day.
What we collect
LUCID has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising trackers, and no crash-reporting services. The app does not transmit your answers, your streak, your check-ins, your recordings, or anything else you enter. To manage purchases and membership access, RevenueCat receives an automatically generated anonymous identifier and purchase history. We do not attach your name, email address, health information, or in-app entries to that identifier.
What stays on your device
Everything you put into LUCID is stored locally on your device only:
- your onboarding answers and your reason for quitting or pausing;
- streak dates, daily check-ins, slips, and pledges;
- estimates the app computes from your answers (money saved, hours reclaimed, dependence score);
- the short video or voice message you may record for your future self.
Deleting the app deletes all of this. There is no copy anywhere else — which also means we cannot recover it for you.
Device permissions
- Camera & microphone — used only if you choose to record a Day-0 message to your future self. The recording is saved on your device and is never uploaded.
- Notifications — reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No notification content passes through a server.
Purchases
Payment is handled entirely by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play. We never receive your payment card or bank details. Apple's handling of your purchase data is described in Apple's privacy policy and Google's in Google's privacy policy.
We use RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore access, operate membership features, and understand aggregate purchase performance. RevenueCat processes an anonymous app-user identifier and purchase history for those purposes. This data is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Data retention
Your personal entries live on your device for as long as you keep them there. RevenueCat retains anonymous purchase records as needed to validate and restore membership access and according to its privacy policy. If you email support, we keep the email conversation only as long as needed to help you.
Deleting your data
LUCID has no personal account to delete. To erase the personal information stored by the app:
- In the app: Settings → “Restart my plan” wipes your entries, or simply delete the app from your device — both remove that local data permanently.
- By email: if you have any doubt or want confirmation of our practices, write to hello@serendipity.day and we will help.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal data or use it for cross-app tracking. If you want to exercise any of these rights, including a request concerning anonymous purchase records, or ask how they apply to you, email hello@serendipity.day and we will respond.
Children
LUCID concerns cannabis cessation and is intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and it is offered on the App Store with an age rating of 18+. If you believe a child has used the app, deleting the app removes their locally stored entries and recordings.
Changes to this policy
If LUCID's practices ever change — for example, if optional cloud sync is added — this policy will be updated first, the “Last updated” date revised, and material changes reflected in the app before they take effect.
